How to Retrieve Your Data After Canceling Your Legacy Secure Subscription

If you decide to cancel your Legacy Secure subscription but wish to retain your data, understanding the retrieval process is essential. Below is what happens to your data and how you can manage it after cancellation.

Account Status After Cancellation:

  • Pending State:
    • Upon canceling your subscription, your account transitions to a pending state for 60 days.
    • Data Security: During this period, all your data remains securely stored but is inaccessible for viewing or editing.

Retrieving Your Data:

  1. Resubscribe to Legacy Secure:
    • To regain access to your account data, you must reactivate your subscription before the 60-day retention period expires.
  2. Requesting an Account Export via Email:
    • How to Request: You can request an export of your account data by emailing [email protected]. This request must be made within the 60-day retention period.
    • Export Format: Your data will be exported in a CSV format, which is readable but may not be as user-friendly as it appears within the Legacy Secure system.
    • Exclusions: Please note that Legacy Secure does not provide any uploaded documents as part of the export; only the textual content from each item is included.
    • Strict Deadline: If you do not submit your export request within 60 days, Legacy Secure cannot retrieve your data afterward.

Important Considerations:

  • Time-Sensitive Retrieval:
    • You must act within the 60-day window after cancellation to either resubscribe or request an export. Once 60 days have passed, all data is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
  • No Data Retention Beyond 60 Days:
    • Legacy Secure does not keep any copies of your data beyond the 60-day retention period.

Immediate Account Deletion:

  • Opting for Immediate Deletion:
    • If you choose to delete your account manually, all data will be removed instantly. Ensure you have requested and received any necessary data exports before doing so.

    • Your data remains encrypted and secure during the pending state, safeguarding your information until you decide to retrieve it or until it is permanently deleted.
